Sam is an AI-powered assistant that provides two broad capabilities:

A Customer Support Agent capability that can answer your questions about features and functionality of the Skills Base tool and methodology.

A Data Analyst capability that can answer questions about your organization's skills data
Customer Support Agent capability
Sam's Customer Support Agent capability is always available to all Skills Base users. Sam is trained on this knowledge base, as well as the Skills Base methodology.
The Reponses Sam provides depend on whether the person they are chatting with is a Skills Base Administrator or not. Skills Base Administrators are provided information about configuring Skills Base, as well as other administrative subjects. If Sam can't answer an Administrator's question they will refer the person to our human Customer Support team. Sam will also answer questions from people who are not Administrators in Skills Base, but will generally not discuss subjects involving configuration or setup of Skills Base. Anytime Sam is unable to answer a non-administrator's question they will generally refer the person to the Skills Base Administrators within their organization.
Data Analyst capability
Ask Sam Data Analyst capability is a powerful AI-driven data analyst that can delve deep into your skills data to generate tailored reports and actionable insights. Sam has a level of data-query capability more advanced than other reporting in Skills Base via access to Skills Base's Skill Query feature, and so can be used to reveal complex and detailed insights based on your instructions.
The preview version of Ask Sam Data Analyst is available to any customer that does not have access to Lens:

Allows users to click insight questions on dashboards and receive a response from Sam Data Analyst

Does not allow users to ask follow up or free-form questions
The full version of Ask Sam Data Analyst is available to customers that have the AI Module:

Allows users to chat with Sam Data Analyst and ask any free-form questions

Free-form questions
Customer with access to the full version of Sam Data Analyst can use the "Ask Sam" feature to ask free-form questions about any data within Skills Base. This gives customers maximum flexibility to retrieve the specific insights they need for any type of skills-related query:
Insights gadgets
For customers that don't have access to Sam Data Analyst or Lens, Skills Base provides pre-defined insight questions on select dashboards to inspire exploration of Sam Data Analyst, and to highlight commonly valuable insights:
Permissions
Customers with access to the full version of Sam Data Analyst can grant or revoke access via the [Ask Sam > Data Queries] Security Group privilege. Additionally, people that are granted the [Reporting > Skill Query] Security Group privilege are able to review and/or edit the query that Sam generated by clicking the "Review the query" link that appears after the results. Note that reviewing and/or editing the query requires knowledge of Skills Base's Skill Query language.
For customers that don't have access to the full version of Sam Data Analyst or Lens, Insight Gadgets are initially granted to Administrators only - regardless of license type. Administrators can grant other users access to Insights Gadgets by granting the [Ask Sam > Insight question gadgets] Security Group privilege.
